An interview with Jack from Cool Hand Coffee

What's one thing we should know about you?

Most of our coffee comes from direct trade relationships we have with our farmers. With them in mind, we roast coffee with heart.

What excites you about coffee?

Good coffee is the product of underdogs, it's where lifestyle meets flavour. And we drink it everyday. In all its simplicity, there's a lot to love.

If you could recommend one song to listen to while drinking your coffee, what would it be?
Jazz (We Got) by A Tribe Called Quest. Tribe is top, this track in particular is like the a hazy day spent in the sun.

Espresso: Milky Joe

Filter: Filter Single Origin

50% from Pedro Gabarra in Brazil, and 50% from Wilton Benitez in Colombia.

What's your favourite thing about this coffee?
Something crazy like 95% of all coffee consumed in Australia is with milk, so Milky Joe is crafted sweet and creamy with this in mind. Tastes like caramel/chocolate swirl with dried berries. Its bangin' coffee.

What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?
Papa Smurf.

What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?
We were in Colombia in 2022, and introduced the growers in this blend to one another – Pedro from Brazil, and Wilton from Colombia. They're both legends and now pals. They swap seeds with one another to push the boundaries of coffee in their home countries.

This is 100% Yellow Colombia varietal, produced in Quindio, Colombia by Sara Gutierrez

What's your favourite thing about this coffee?
This pretty much tastes like a cherry ripe. Straight out the packet. It's delicious.

What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?
Little Red Riding Hood.

What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?
Sara is the treasurer of the Colombian chapter of the International Women's Coffee Association. She's paving the way for other female farmers to cut through in a big way.
