An interview with Katie from Bolt Coffee Roasters
What's one thing we should know about you?
Bolt began on a modified BBQ in a backyard in Perth 12 years ago and still carries forward the ethos of 'Simple Done Well'. Owners Katie and Brooke take great care to create a full range of blends and selection of Single Origin, pods and drip bags that we think are really delicious and hope that you think so too.
What excites you about coffee?
We love beautifully developed medium to dark roasts with big bold flavours, low acidity and low bitterness
If you could recommend one song to listen to while drinking your coffee, what would it be?
We think some Fleetwood Mac and a coffee is a match made in heaven, and likely something you'll experience if you visit us at our Cafe or Roastery in Perth!

About the Coffees
———————————————————————————————
Espresso
Delirium
Colombia, Vietnam, Brazil, Papua New Guinea
What's your favourite thing about this coffee?
We think it's the perfect balance of strength and flavour that gives you a boost with a big hit of chocolate notes and low bitterness... It's a great wake-me-up blend.
What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?
Johnny Bravo: Big, bold and strong- but not very scary. Just like the character, we think that Delirium looks like a heavy hitter but is surprisingly simple and great!
What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?
Many blends are made up of 2 or 3 origins but this blend covers all bases, with beans from 4 different countries which gives it a full bodied flavour and richness that rocks!

Filter
Volcano
Ethiopia, Guji & Mexico, Oaxaca
What's your favourite thing about this coffee?
Volcano is one of the crown jewels in the Bolt range. We feel it's rare for blends to be created and roasted beautifully for filter so we think we have created something special. The beans from Mexico give it depth and body, and the Ethiopian beans give it a juicy burst of fruit sweetness that makes you want to take another sip (or make another cup)
What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?
Kerby: looks so friendly but is also powerful.. just like Volcano is both strong AND approachable making it suitable for people who enjoy espresso and filter coffee at home.
What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?
Coffee from Mexico can be complex, bold and quite intense, whereas Ethiopian coffee is often recognised as being fruit forward and bright.. We think Volcano is a great combination of these flavours!
