April 2024 — Floozy Coffee

An interview with Kmac from Floozy Coffee

What's one thing we should know about you?

I think if there's one thing that people should know about Floozy it's that our mission is good coffee for everyone. This means producers to consumers. Producers have the right to be paid fairly and consumers have the right to buy transparent, tasty coffee without feeling like they have to prove their coffee nerd-om.

What excites you about coffee?

Coffee is always changing, I love the creative community that generally surrounds coffee and I love that you can never say that you've learned everything there is to learn about it.

If you could recommend one song to listen to while drinking your coffee, what would it be?

Dolly Parton 9 to 5 because everyone should just listen to it more often.

About the Coffees

Espresso

Lucky Stars

(Los Idolos (Co-op) San Agustin, Huila, Colombia / Arlin Andino - Esquipulas, Jinotega, Nicaragua)

What's your favourite thing about this coffee?

We have been buying from Esquipulas and Los Idolos for a long time now and it has really helped us to be able to create a reliable and delicious product. We're super proud of the way that we buy coffee and this blend showcases the connection between buying ethically and drinking tasty coffee.

What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?

Elastigirl: like Lucky Stars, she is bold, versatile, flexible.

What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?

I'm going to share a quote from Arlin Andino: Arlin shares, “When you drink a cup of coffee, most of the time you don’t think about all the work behind it, all the people that with their hands are involved with the process. I’ve involved myself in all these activities, I’ve placed myself in the shoes of the people that work with me, and from there, I can see the real value of a cup of coffee. This means that when a person drinks a coffee produced on my farm, they’re drinking all the hard work and effort.”

Filter

Catalina Perez

(Santa Maria Ozolotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico)

What's your favourite thing about this coffee?

Bluey Heeler - I also feel like she would name a farm after herself

What fictional character does this coffee remind you of?

Bruce from Finding Nemo. This coffee can be sharp, full-bodied, and intense, but also friendly and charismatic.

What's one interesting fact about where this coffee was grown?

She named the farm after herself, Finca Catalina, and I think that's kind of badass
